Dear Dr. Rodney D. Cathey Middle School Families and Community,
As your new principal, I am honored to lead a school with such a rich history of academic and program excellence. I’m committed to working together with parents, teachers, students, and the entire Cathey community. I have a passion for education and learning, along with the determination to ensure every child at Cathey reaches their full potential.
I have spent 20 years as a professional educator, starting back in 1998. After 8 years in the classroom, I worked as an Instructional Coach, an Assistant Principal and Principal. In fact, I have served as either the Interim Principal or Principal for Andrew Jackson Elementary since 2017.
Cathey has outstanding teachers and staff. Together, we will work hard to continue the tradition of excellence, both inside and outside the classroom. Strong, positive relationships will continue to be fostered and, together, we will meet our children’s instructional, physical, social, and emotional needs.

Como su nuevo director, me siento honrado de dirigir una escuela con una rica historia de excelencia académica y de programas. Estoy comprometido a trabajar junto con los padres, maestros, estudiantes y toda la comunidad de Cathey. Tengo pasión por la educación y el aprendizaje, junto con la determinación de garantizar que cada niño en Cathey alcance su máximo potencial.
He pasado 20 años como educador profesional, comenzando en 1998. Después de 8 años en el salón de clases, trabajé como Entrenador de Instrucción, Subdirector y Director. De hecho, me he desempeñado como director interino o director de la escuela primaria Andrew Jackson desde 2017.
Cathey tiene maestros y personal sobresalientes. Juntos, trabajaremos arduamente para continuar con la tradición de excelencia, tanto dentro como fuera del salón de clases.
