ALERT: After much reflection and consideration, McAllen ISD is cancelling all classes for Wednesday-Friday (February 17-19, 2021) this week.
With growing reports of families experiencing power outages, water and fuel shortages already numbering in the thousands, McAllen ISD made this decision with the best interests of the community in mind as many families are struggling with these challenges.
At this point, McAllen ISD plans to return to normal operating procedures on Monday, February 22, 2021.
Any McAllen ISD families needing hot spots for connectivity may pick them up Wednesday (5-6:30 p.m.) at McAllen ISD Central Office (2000 N. 23rd St.).

Varsity athletic events for this week will run as scheduled.

ALERTA: DespuĆ©s de mucha reflexiĆ³n y consideraciĆ³n, McAllen ISD cancelarĆ” todas las clases del MiĆ©rcoles a Viernes (17-19 de Febrero del 2021) esta semana.
Con crecientes informes de familias que experimentan cortes de energĆa, escasez de agua y combustible que ya se cuentan por miles, McAllen ISD tomĆ³ esta decisiĆ³n teniendo en cuenta los mejores intereses de la comunidad, ya que muchas familias estĆ”n luchando con estos desafĆos.
En este punto, McAllen ISD planea regresar a los procedimientos operativos normales el Lunes 22 de Febrero del 2021.

ALERT: The District is receiving reports that there is a high probability power outages will continue throughout the night and tomorrow (Wednesday, February 17, 2021).
Therefore, McAllen ISD will be extending 100% remote instruction through tomorrow. At this point, our plan is to return to normal operating procedures on Thursday, February 18, 2021.
If your child is experiencing connectivity issues because of this, we understand. Rest assured that we will be flexible with his/her assignments during this time. Any McAllen ISD families needing hot spots for connectivity may pick them up TODAY (1:30-4 p.m.) or Wednesday (5-6:30 p.m.) at McAllen ISD Central Office (2000 N. 23rd St.).

At our Grab & Go feeding sites in our community, our loving staff from the Food Services Department are carefully preparing meals, our nurses are closely monitoring their health, and our police officers are keeping them safe. Other members of these teams are working with our Transportation Department to feed even more children through our Meals on Wheels Program.
